It is also an internationally recognized diploma, so if you are applying to an international university AICE is the best-suited program while you are in high school. It is also a graduation option the diploma can stand in for the graduation requirements in high schools, although most students likely earn it in addition to their traditional high school diplomas. What Are the Benefits of the AICE Diploma?
College Credit
You can earn up to 45 hours of college credit from the AICE Diploma.
Higher education institutions across the US and around the world recognize and reward student achievement in Cambridge International AS & A Level courses and exams and the Cambridge AICE Diploma. Students may receive college credit, advanced course placement, or scholarships for qualifying grades on Cambridge International AS & A Level exams.
Over 870 institutions in North America have policies for Cambridge students, including MIT, University of Washington, Duke University, Columbia University, New York University, University of California campuses at Davis, Irvine, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, and more, University of Virginia, Florida State University, North Carolina State University, Arizona State University, to name just a few.
Individual course certificates can also earn you college credit if you don’t earn the diploma. All IVY league schools in the US and more than 800 universities in the US participate in the program. International universities equally recognize the program. You can check out which schools worldwide recognize AICE on the Cambridge website.
Many colleges will grant Cambridge students advanced placement. This allows students to bypass introductory college courses or fulfill core requirements in certain subjects if they perform well. This can free up students’ schedules to participate in special programs or even pursue a double major.
Scholarships
Cambridge International AS & A Level exams may qualify students for academic or merit scholarships
For example, completing the diploma and 100 hours of community service automatically nets you the Florida Academic Scholarships Award via the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program.

Students who earn an AICE Diploma and complete 100 hours of community service, and submit their Florida Financial Aid Applications by their high school graduation date will automatically earn 100% tuition free Full Bright Future Scholarship regardless of their scores on the SAT or ACT.
